Chas's Pond View 1

Many years ago in my teenage days I got into tropical fish land. I had many metal framed fish tanks that I made myself from throw outs from aquariums shops in London and took over my dad's small garage. Good job he didn't have a car or I would have been in trouble, but that was then. But NOW ...

A few years on, I've started again but in a big way from small fish to the big ones that need a lot of space and loving care. Well I'm no gardener so it has been a challenge for me to sort out my back yard and turn it into a river, well nearly anyway. I started a corner pond then another one next to it, then started a 400-gallon vegetable filter.

From the start I worked long hours and late nights to sort the ponds and gardens out, change the layout to the second pond so many times it was getting me down as I just wanted to sit outside and admire my fish but that wasn't to be. Well not just yet, so I decided to join the S.E.K.C in Titchfield near Fareham that was after going to one of their shows, so that I may get some tips and to learn on how to put my garden in order but after a few trips to the koi club I had decided to stop going, as it was nearly one and quarter hours travelling one way and not getting home till late after midnight.

So then joined a club nearer home to Shaftesbury and that was THE DORSET KOI KEEPERS. They meet in Ringwood Hants and a good bunch of fellow Koi Keepers they are too, and I'm learning all the time from these people in the club. Well this is just a small entry onto the club website on how I started keeping the living jewels of all time.
